Bootleggers got the shock of a lifetime when the NYPD held a massive raid on Canal Street to confiscate up to $1 million of counterfeit goods. Details under the hood.

New York is cracking down on the sale of counterfeit luxury goods and recently seized a ton of fake bags and watches.  This week police shut down 31 stalls along Canal Street. Mayor Bloomberg says the city is just not going to have any tolerance for people selling knockoffs. It’s not fair to companies that invest in their brand. A special unit had been making undercover purchases of fakes before the raids.  Some brands bootlegged included Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Chanel.

Sad day for all the hood rats

and tourists that come looking for a bargain.
